Negative memories of experiences from the past actually reside in our subconscious mind and unless we have made a conscious decision and gone through a process to ‘let go’ of a negative memory (and therefore experience), then the effect of that past hurt will continue to surface when it is triggered by something or someone that reminds us of that past experience. It could be something someone says, something we see or smell or even could be how or where we are touched.

Those triggers can awaken the same negative feelings of the past hurtful experience but we may have no idea that our feelings and reactions ie. current behaviours will have anything to do with hurtful experiences of the past. We may feel fear, anger, hurt, shame, guilt, depressed and even denial and we may blame the people we are currently interacting with, all the time not realising that we are being impacted by memories of the past.

This can be a real show stopper in our lives and may stop us from living a truly happy and fulfilled life that we know we deserve. The good news is that we don’t have to put up with it. Pain from the past can be removed and obliterated quickly and easily without having to re-live that awful past.
