Why Get Coaching?

Everything we do in life is done so that we can ultimately
feel good.

 “But that’s just too simplistic” I hear you saying “because there’s different types of feeling good and everyone has their own version of what ‘feels good’ means to them.”  Yes, that’s true and even though everyone is striving to ultimately feel good a lot of the time, we may wake up one day and realise that our life circumstances, job, relationships, lack of relationships, or predicament we find ourselves in actually makes us feel really bad.

But how do we change this? 

Most people don’t how to change their situation or even that they have the choice and power to change for the better.  A lot of people choose to accept their lot in life and just suffer in silence ‘because it’s somebody else’s fault’.  Others don’t have the confidence, know how, or resources to change their situation.  Yet there are others who want something different from what they’ve got but don’t know what it is that they want, or how to get it.

Here is where a coach steps in.

There are very few unique problems in the world.  They are generally related to a lack of one or more of the 6 human needs, money, relationships with others or relationships with self. If a person feels that they are lacking something in their life and don’t feel happy, the first place to look is where there is a void in relation to their 6 fundamental Human Needs (originated by Anthony Robbins).

Certainty

In control over their life and their future.

Out of control, anxiety, stress, worried, lost, uncertain of the future, have lack of confidence.

Unappreciated, not special, not worthwhile or useful, lack of self esteem and/or self worth.

Love & Connection

Have great relationships with partner, friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances

Lonely, unwanted, unappreciated, insignificant, low self confidence and self esteem.

Variety

Have surprise, newness, spontaneity and a lot of spice in life.

Bored, lack of enthusiasm or drive, stagnant, no passion.

Growth

That they are becoming a better person, learning and growing, achieving, self actualised.

Stagnant, not amounting to much, bored, not very smart.

Contribution

Giving back, helping others, community, humanity, a bigger cause than self.

Not connected, not worthwhile, not valuable.

The job of an Excel In Performance Coach is to identify what’s lacking and strategise with the client how to improve circumstances to bring back what is missing.

Practical Uses of Coaching

Overcoming Fears –To be able to get what you want out of life, you first need to develop enough courage, then knowledge, then take action.

Fear, believe it or not, is the biggest show stopper to people giving themselves a fulfilled and happy life.  Some of the most common fears are as follows:

  • Fear of rejection
  • The fear of failure
  • Fear of not being enough, not looking good enough or knowing enough
  • Fear of looking stupid or making a fool of yourself
  • Fear of losing money
  • Fear of losing love or loved ones
  • Fear of change
  • Fear of being alone
  • Fear of the unknown
  • Fear of getting out of your comfort zone
  • Fear of public speaking
  • Fear of crowds or open spaces / closed spaces
  • Fear of flying

  • Fear of taking a risk

  • Fear of being taken advantage of or being ripped off
  • Fear of not being safe

You cannot give yourself the best life possible unless you overcome your fears.  We all have fears of some sort and some of us haven’t even recognised that it is actually fear that is stopping or has stopped us from really going for it, whether it relates to a career, a relationship, an investment, going on an adventure, or even just trying something new.
This is where I step in…a coach can help you to overcome most fears in one or two sessions.  That’s about 2 – 3 hours to conquer a fear that may have plagued you for your entire life.

A lot of people think their problems are here to stay and it’s just their lot in life or the hand they’ve been dealt so they simply have to put up with it.  Other people think they don’t have any other options so they have to just suffer in silence and that nobody else understands.  Other people just like talking about their problems or venting to get it out of their head and think that that’s enough to make the problems go away, only to later find that the same problems rear their ugly heads again and again...

NO, you don’t ever have to ‘put up’ with your current situation or problems and YES, you always have other options.  Sometimes it takes a helping hand to point out the different possibilities or help you find the resources required to resolve this problem once and for all.

Do we want to be slim just for vanity reasons or is there a more important reason why we absolutely and categorically need to keep ourselves as slim as our body type dictates?  Well the answer is a resounding You Betcha!!.  We do need to, and not just slim but taut and strong as well otherwise our bodies disintegrate, fall apart, muscles atrophy, bones break, arteries clog up and finally your heart stops working. 

How to Feel Good All The Time

How would you like to feel good without relying on stimulants such as alcohol, cigarettes, other drugs, food, television, the need for company, material things … many of us have our own personal drugs or ‘crutches’ that we lean on to feel good but how good are these crutches for us?
